Jules was perhaps my most favorite and my most difficult PAVAD character to write. The woman had experienced so much loss that I found it hard to get inside her head and her heart.
Fortunately, Malachi understood her a bit better than I did!

I started this series quite by accident and I am completely hooked.
Hunting is the story of Dr. Malachi "Perfect" Brockman and Dr. Julia Bellows. Julia is a forensic pathologist who has lost her husband and unborn child, she doesn't want to love anyone ever again. Malachi is seemingly perfect, comes from a perfect family went to the perfect school has an 86% solve rate in the FBI, you get the drift.
Malachi just annoys the living mess out of julia, she just wants to be left alone with her dead bodies. she doesn't want a relationship with Perfect malachi. the only problem is a serial killer who has been stalking Malachi for 5 years and has now focused on Julia.
This story was suspenseful from start to finish, and I love how flawed Julia is! a great read!

Great author, get hooked on this series

I am a fan of Calle J. Brookes. She has two series of book and I am currently waiting for the next ones to come out. The descriptions on the books are accurate, but I will not give plot away as this is suppose to be suspenseful. The characters in this series are great and easy to want to follow and find out more about their lives. In each book she touches on previous books and updates you on the couple but never takes away from the current book. I recommend her as an author in both her series.

I loved Brooke's Dardanos series and can't wait for her next. When she began the Pavad series I was sure that I could not enjoy it as much as her other series! I freely admit that I was wrong. This series pulls you into a team that uses their abilities to apprehend criminals who manage to blend in with normal, everyday characters. In this story, Brookes allows the bad guy to use chess as a vehicle to demonstrate the villain's insanity and pull the reader into deciphering clues as to who that character is. Read it and you won't be disappointed!
