I purchased this book from a different seller and it was taking for ever so I purchased from this seller and arrived so quickly. Thank you thank you! The book is an easy read, terminology is not difficult and a wealth of information for my course. Nice book over all.

Great Book

This was a great book. I bought it for a class I was enrolled in. HCS/457 University of Phoenix 2013 / and found myself wanting to read even more. The book was laid out in a format that made it fun to read. It offered real life examples and references to past cases of public health events. Whether for class or recreation, this was a good book.

The book gets 4 stars because, while I found it to be an easy, informative, and enjoyable read, it did not give too much attention to health systems outside the U.S. outside from one chapter. However, if you are looking for a great book about public health is the United States, this would be a 5 star review.

The Abyssal Angels: Infernal Colopatiron Redux is an 83 pages paperback, printed by DB Publishing in 2011. This little booklet is a striped down version of S. Connolly’s previous book called The Infernal Colopatiron c 2011-2012 by S. Connolly, which was an Official Melissa Press fine binding: 220 copies Black Faux Leather standard edition 220 copies and Burgundy Bonded Leather Edition, limited to 30 copies - being now out of print and never to be reprinted again.

The Abyssal Angels: Infernal Colopatiron Redux is for Demonolators – The ones who practice Demonolatry, which is the worship of Demons, and/or practicing magick with the aid of entities Known as Demons. Demonolatry is a religion of the Self, which requires a lot of hard work on self-understanding and self-development and the search of Knowledge. Modern Demonolatry is a Pantheist or polytheist, depending how the reader sees the Demonic entities.

S. Connolly has been practicing magic since 1984. She has been taken on as a student of Selinda Dukante (Traditional Demonolater) at the age of 16 and was formally initiated into the family sect tradition of Traditional Khemetic/Caanite based Demonolatry in 1990, where she is an ordained priestess. She is also the current the Reverend High Priestess of the Demonolatry sect Ordo Flammeus Serpens. Also maintains membership and degrees in various initiatory occult organizations which are not religious.

S. Connolly points out that The Abyssal Angels: Infernal Colopatiron Redux is meant for advanced magicians who can fill out the more basic information that is needed to fully use the book. The author gives examples of her personal work with Gate opening and Theophany (The manifestation/appearance of a god, a deity, a spirit, etc… in this case, through gate opening and summoning).

The Abyssal Angels: Infernal Colopatiron Redux mentioned that
Colopatiron, is the Genii – Deamon who rules over the 9th Hour of the Nuctemeron. In the Nuctemeron of Apollonius of Tyana, Nine is “The number that is not to be reveled”), and Colopatiron is the one who opens the Infernal Gates of the prison, he is in charge of the Liberation.
The author also includes a list of Nine Abyssal Gatekeepers or Abyssal Angels, from the 9th Gate, their Sigils and Enns (Invocations). “No one knows what language the Enns come from, they were deemed Demonic Enns in the late 16th Century (1585), by the Demonolator Alexander Willit.” S. Connolly.

There are many chapters telling about the Gate opening and that they can be used for other goals, such as energy manipulation, creating servitors, manifestation of ideas, management of emotions and personal Alchemical Transformation.

Strengths:
S. Connolly writing style is straight to the point, she does not make use of non-sense pompous metaphoric Language.
She shows care about her readers, highlighting the need of observing some steps and the dangers of not doing so such as gate closing after the Rituals. Or that it would be advisable to keep in mind that one should be mentally healthy and physically apt to perform magick.

The author is sincere and Truthful and she tells that most of advanced formulas are not written in books, and that the magician must obtain them through direct contact with the entities. Also that the results of ones’ practice depends upon one’ skills, and that the person should keep realistic expectations in mind.

Weaknesses:
In my opinion, The Abyssal Angels: Infernal Colopatiron Redux, should have had a chapter exploring a bit more about The Nuctemeron Gates and another one going in more details about each of the Nine Abyssal Gatekeepers.

I would like to see a list of Contents and an index.

Overall, it is an insightful little volume, written by a devoted Practitioner Magician, who through her dedicated work and diligent study has gathered Powerful and important information in this fascinating and important subject – Gate Opening.

It is in the hands of the reader, to decide what to do with the knowledge perceived through the pages of any book.

In a way, it is a complementary topic that can be used within the Left hand Path, and for the ones who are not afraid of facing their fears and looking into the depths of the Abyss.

• how clinical attention to implicit processes in the relational field, as well as discoveries in body-based affective neuroscience are making trauma treatment more effective;
• the life of C.G. Jung as it portrays his early trauma, his soul’s retreat into an inner sanctuary, and his gradual recovery of wholeness through the integration of his divided self.

This is a book that restores the mystery to psychoanalytic work. It tells stories of ordinary patients and ordinary psychotherapists who, through working together, glimpse the reality of the human soul and the depth of the spirit, and are changed by the experience. Trauma and the Soul

We are so fortunate to have someone willing to write about the deepest aspects of the psyche and to what depths it will go to attempt to heal itself. Donald Kalsched truly understands these deep spiritual pockets of the unconscious and to what lengths the unconscious will struggle to avoid the grips of terrified "otherness". I am happy to know that Kalsched now believes that the Protector/Persecutor is now educable and that trauma is not always committed to the grips of anti-relatedness. Kalsched goes to great lengths to explain to the reader in theory, fairytale, and psychoanalytic work how the psychic wounds that occur very early in life can actually heal themselves through the "integrative energies" of the of unconscious. This book combines both Jungian depth psychotherapy and the sacred spiritualness of the traumatized soul. This book embraces Dante's guided descent into the inferno, the role of the clinician as guide and container, Jungian theory and the integration of the dismembered soul that is able to reach wholeness on the other side.

Through extended clinical vignettes, including therapeutic dialogue and dreams, he shows how depth psychotherapy with trauma’s survivors can open both analytic partners to "another world" of non-ordinary reality in which daimonic powers reside, both light and dark. This mytho-poetic world, he suggests, is not simply a defensive product of our struggle with the harsh realities of living as Freud suggested, but is an everlasting fact of human experience — a mystery that is often at the very center of the healing process, and yet at other times, strangely resists it.

With these "two worlds" in focus, Kalsched explores a variety of themes as he builds, chapter by chapter, an integrated psycho-spiritual approach to trauma and its treatment including:

Small Eternities, the second book of the Aldous Lexicon, is just as thrilling and exciting as the last. It has just enough twists and turns to keep the reader guessing, and I found myself reading long into the night.

As good as the first

This is the second book in the Aldous Lexicon (also known as the Withern Rise Trilogy) and follows 'A Crack In The Line'. I highly recommend reading the first book before embarking upon this one! (I'm not always hooked on trilogies, and although the first book has a satisfying ending as a stand alone book, I couldn't leave it there. I had to get all three.)

This book follows the story of Alaric and Naia, who are now both struggling to understand and deal with being trapped in each others' realities. I enjoyed this book as much as the first. It delved deeper into some areas and explained some things I'd wondered about in the first book.

It's not what I'd call an leisurely read. It can, at times, get a little confusing and a few times I had to stop and think whose reality we were actually in, or go back to check on some earlier facts! It's thought provoking and actually had me considering all the 'what ifs' of my own life! I recommend it to anyone into paranormal, mystery, fantasy, and those who don't mind having to think a bit about what they're reading!

Very unique stories and very engaging - highly imaginative but not weird. Thought-provoking, but not difficult. This was the first book I'd read by this author and was thoroughly impressed - I'll be seeking out her other works. Very enjoyable read.

I'm reading it to a disabled young lady in a Christian setting, so I pre-view the stories for content and language. Surprised at the first reading by the authors's frequent use of the word "whore". Otherwise, a fun read.

Ghost Recon's got it all. David Michaels got it right

If a novel is a contract between two imaginations author David Michaels gives us more than enough ammo to fight alongside Captain Scott Mitchell and his Ghost Team.

From the Southern Philippines, Northwest Waziristan, and Xiamen, China, Mitchell and his Ghosts carry out the Army's clandestine ops; coping with the impact of unforeseen tragedy, remembering lessons-learned, and treasuring camaraderie.

But during Operation War Wrath in Xiamen, China, a decade-old tragedy resurfaces endangering the mission and the team. Mitchell now must fight his rage, complete the mission, and bring his wounded and battle-weary team out of China --- vanishing like the ghosts they trained to be.

This actually could have been a great book.

This is a great one to three day read with lots of special forces action. It's based on a video game but I've decided to stop being so danged picky about what I read. Many of the facts about military hardware are inaccurate but... WHO CARES? If you're looking for special forces history there are plenty of options for you out there. The sad thing is that if this story had been more developed it probably would have been as good or better than a Tom Clancy novel. Maybe the author will get a chance to strike out on his own someday. One thing the reader may find annoying is the shameless and sort of funny Blackhawk tactical knife advertisements scattered throughout the book. I'm not talking about just one or two lines, these things go on and on. Here's an example;

"Brown unsheathed his Blackhawk Masters of Defense Nightwing and took it into his left hand in a reverse grip. He wasn't expecting to use it, but you never knew. The fixed blade had a fiberglass nylon handle with wing-walk inserts, a black tungsten diamondlike carbon (DLC) finish, and a serrated spine, giving him a secondary edge for back cuts and draw cuts. The blade was 5.9 inches of pure death, and he considered it the American Express Card of knives- because he never deployed without it."

This chestnut is truly gruesome, especially that Schwarzeneggar one liner at the end. Thankfully these deviations from the course of the story are not frequent and I think we should refrain from blaming the writer for them. I'm certain there was an advertising, marketing, or contractual issue that allowed those hideous lines to make it past the editor. Plus I'm probably being silly because this book may have been written especially for youngsters who might actually consider those bits of information useful and essential to the story. In that case I may be the real idiot here.
Bottom line: it's a quick entertaining read, if you like military stories you should buy this and take it on the plane with you. You won't hate it. And for the record, Blackhawk does make some fine gear.

Don't expect too much and you'll be fine.

I've been a fan of the Ghost Recon series of games for years. When I heard about the book, I bought it immediately to check it out.

It's definitely not in the same category as other novels with Clancy's name on them. Yes, I am aware that it was not written by him. The way the book is presented can't really decide whether it is targeted towards middle school kids or adults.

If you are looking for an easy read with some action and interesting (though over-simplified) geo-political theorizing, this book will not disappoint you. If you are looking for phenomenal accuracy and a peek behind the scenes of the lives of actual special forces operators or government intelligence, this isn't the place.

About the Author

Thomas C. Foster is a professor of English at the University of Michigan-Flint, where he teaches contemporary fiction, drama, and poetry as well as creative writing and composition. He is the author of Twenty-five Books That Shaped America and several books on twentieth-century British and Irish fiction and poetry. He lives in East Lansing, Michigan.

Don't buy the 2015 edition of this book!!!

The 2015 edition is a version published through a self-publishing Amazon subsidiary called "CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform". It is missing several sections (example: Preface & Index). The formatting does not match earlier editions (example: statements in Bold and/or Italics that the author used to emphasize in earlier editions are in the same font as the rest of the text in the 2015 edition). We returned the book for a refund.

Insightful Approach to Literary Analysis

How to Read Literature Like a Professor offers an extensive introduction to literary analysis for the purpose of finding deeper meaning in one's everyday reading.

Chapters are divided into relatively similar page counts and, while each chapter explores a topic and provides helpful examples from literary works, the length of each chapter allows for digestion of information in small bites.

Citing folklore, religious dogmas, and Greek mythology, the author delicately introduces varied or contrasting belief systems for interpretation of literature in an unoffensive and unbiased manner.

While this book provides a thorough examination of theme, symbols, and contexts, the author freely admits that it is by no means a complete compilation; one could hardly fit all elements of literary assessment, all interpretations of symbols, or all references to venerable lore into just one book. The writing is consistently comprehensive and entertaining, occasionally infused with Foster's personal quips and moments of charming self-deprecation. His points, whether serious or silly, are stated with eloquence.

The author's examination of various classic works are liable to tantalize readers to pick up new reads, and a long list of recommended reads at the back of the book further encourage the accumulation of TBR books.

Before the book reaches its end, the author tackles a difficult question: should we really give so much credit to writers by interpreting their works in such a special and meaningful way, especially when he/she hasn't been proven to be a good writer? His answer is illuminating and his conclusions ultimately encourage the examination of literature and the sharing of books and conversation such that we might all bring new perspectives to our shared experience.

How to Read Literature Like a Professor is a highly recommended resource for unearthing the hidden meaning interwoven in books (and film).

beware self-published editions

Nothing against the book, but Amazon was selling copies with some generic professor's picture on the cover for 7.99. The ISBN is listed as 9781514202999. Apparently it's some type of self-published or bootleg edition of the book. The problem is that that version of the book has a tiny font and no page numbers, so for students needing citation information the book's pretty much useless. Amazon pulled the link to that edition, and won't let me return it, but I wanted to post a heads-up on this to save you the trouble of having to buy two copies of the same book!
