About the Author
Michael Halper developed The Cold Calling Equation from experience and knowledge gained during his years as a technology sales professional. As the founder and CEO of Launch Pad Solutions, LLC, a sales coaching and telesales outsourcing operation, he began to take all of the tactics and philosophies that he used to be successful and built them into a model and system that is simple to teach and easy to implement by a sales person of any level. It is Halper’s real world experience of working in the trenches making cold calls that he uses as a key asset while providing sales coaching and building sale training programs. Complementing his experience is a strong educational background including a master’s in management, a bachelor’s in marketing, and a graduate certificate in executive coaching. He is currently working on a master’s in organizational behavior at the University of Texas at Dallas.

A Must Read!

I have read many sales and cold calling books. All had some useful information. Although, there was always a lot of fluff and information that either was not helpful or did not really apply. What I like about this book is that it is pure tactics and techniques. It tells you exactly what you need to do and not do to improve your results. All of the tactics and tips are very realistic and practical to implement. You don't have to completely change what you do or who you are. I saw immediate results. Highly recommend.

Great book! There are many books on cold calling but this one is very straight forward and tells you exactly what you need to know. It is on cold calling but most of the concepts can actually also be used in selling when not on the phone. Easy to recommend this to anyone in sales.

Work smarter, not harder!

Personally, I feel the book overall should be a textbook in most marketing classes and must read material for sales personnel during training. The book breaks things down in a way anyone can understand while respecting the intelligence of the reader. You feel informed and not lectured to. The style uses clear everyday English and explains in a short and clear manner new sales terms. The most amazing thing about the book is that it emphasizes effective work over hard work. Too many sales books say that if you put in enough effort, you get success. Halper clearly explains why this attitude causes so many to fail in sales when simply doing the homework of screening and preparation can yield greater results than most conventional methods.
